Thomas E.  Dunavan

Thomas E. Dunavan, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:20 A.M., Saturday, January 18, 2003 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Thomas worked as a taxi driver, a correctional officer at Mernard Prison, on the railroad and at Du Quoin Boys Club.  He was of the Protestant faith.
He was born October 27, 1916, at Du Quoin, the son of Daniel and Etta (Jackson) Dunavan.
He is survived by two nephews - Tom Morgan and Robert Black and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Daniel Dunavan and two sisters - Nellie Morgan and Lillian Black.
Graveside services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
Those attending the service were asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin Boys Club.
